avast, ye mateys! so i was reading today that the UN (which has an awesome slogan: check out their site if you haven't before) has issued a warning for boats in indonesan waters that they should watch out for PIRATES! yarrrr! apparently, although pirate attacks ceased right after the tsunami, indonesia is the world's most pirate-plagued nation, and it suffered at least 70 pirate attacks in the first nine months of last year, more than a quarter of the global total. some people would think that's a bad thing, and i suppose if you're there in person, it is. but for me, it gives me a wacky new thing to look into online!!!

steve and i would like to take this time with you to extoll the virtues of tea from Tealuxe. all three types that i purchased on my last visit to boston are yummy, and now we're starting to run low, and we're sad.

apparently they've broken ground on the installation of "the gates" in central park. i suppose i can see why people think this is a bad, or stupid, idea. however, i am completely fascinated by it, and wish i could find some way to be in ny the week it's installed and on display.

i'm not sure what i'm more interested in doing on sunday night: going to see Saturday Looks Good to Me at Schuba's, or watching the tv premiere of "death to smootchy" on comedy central. i think weather will probably determine what we do, especially since it's a weeknight.
