we were supposed to be at steve's mom's family reunion this weekend, but steve is sick. seriously, if i'd known he was going to be sick this much, i would have... i dunno. i *did* know he was a sickly boy. when we were first dating he was going to come visit me in new york over his spring break and then his doctor recommended that he get his tonsils taken out. supposedly he'd be sick less if he had them taken out. so he did.
i asked steve about this a couple of days ago. "i thought you got your tonsils taken out so you wouldn't be sick so much. right?" and he said "right". i thought for a moment. "you used to be sick MORE than you are now?" "yep," said steve "i was sick ALL OF THE TIME."
rebekah's husband minh just had his wisdom teeth taken out, and had to deal with nasty dry sockets. did anyone else have the unfortunate experience of this? uck. i had such a bad problem with them that i remember it hurting all of the time despite being given pain relievers. and to make matters worse, i was going to the dental surgeon to get new bandages and got rear ended by a dump truck (yes, you read that right) on the way there. i was driving my dad's probe on s. university street and was stopped at a red light and a dump truck pulled up behind me and, well, kept pulling up. nice. needless to say, it was much bigger than the car i was driving and i missed my appointment. i am surprised that the car made it, but that was/is a tough little car, and i understand it's still running. in honor of that ridiculous car, i thought i'd post a photo of a similar probe here...

and if you are ever up for some real fun, take a look around the internet for photos of cars your parents handed down to you. there are plenty of enthusiast groups that have posted photos of souped up cars from that era that will probably bring a tear to your eye. or at least a snicker to your face.
