we had our housewarming shindig this weekend. we had folks over to watch the wacky euro-nutso olympics opening ceremonies (what was up with playing disco during the 'parade of nations'???) while having opening ceremonies of our own. these torches were the coup de grace. seriously, we may have gone through two batteries each in 3 hours, but they ruled.

we had a great weekend overall. i'm pretty much well again (although my head still fills with a bit of snot overnight) but the weather was so great and i was feeling well enough that we did all kinds of fun stuff. we went to the chinese new year's parade and out for indian food (hooray! there's a good indian place right near our apartment!) with melissa and david on saturday. and on sunday, after steve got back from his first soccer game, explored a bunch of the parks. we loved walking along baker beach. soooo beautiful!

and now, after that fun... back to work. it's going to be another long week at work. luckily i can listen to the olympis telecast in the background, and replay any superexciting great performances (and wipeouts). dvrs rule!

Back reading the blog after a brief hiatus, I have discovered that there are reasons that adults (parents in particular) get crazy with the helpful advise when people move, they have seen or experienced things that they don't wish on anybody. Never again will I move without having insurance in hand already. Damn. That "Q-Tip caused it" guy sounds like an ass. It makes me want to poop on his car. Happy VD Day.
