i mean, he can't seem to come up with anything nice without it being some sort of build-up to a snarky comment! during the parade of nations at opening ceremonies he was so amazingly creative with his nasty comments (which i'll paraphrase):
"sweden has been very successful at the winter games. that success, however, has not been matched at the summer games."
"armenia has a very small delegation. of course, they have no real chance at a medal."
"denmark, of course, is here under heavy security because of the recent cartoons controversy."
so anyhow, he's basically a jerkypants. and then tonight he interviewed poor lindsey jacobellis, and was practically taunting her about her stumble that led to losing her commanding lead in the snowboard cross. at the end he even said "congrats on your silver medal" with what i swear was a sneering emphasis on the word "silver." sheesh. what an asshat.
i do have to say that i think joey cheek's excitement over his speed skating gold medal was super cute. what do you think?

I caught Shani Davis' win tonight in the speed-skating thingy. Whichever perky blonde lady was interviewing him was kind of unprofessional and mean. He gave perfunctory, monosyllabic answers to the standard questions, which was kind of strange. But then she asked him if he was angry about something! (White woman assumes black man is angry; in other news, dog bites man.) He said "no", and she said "well, you certainly look happy" while rolling her eyes and turning back toward the camera. What a byotch! Shani was not playing his "happy olympian" role, but come on!
