i was going to blog about this last night, but blogger was down for maintenance...
domino's went public yesterday. and the stock fell flat on it's face.
from forbes.com:
Domino's Pizza (nyse: DPZ - news - people ) doesn't deliver a strong IPO. The company priced its initial public offering at $14 a share, below the anticipated range of $15 to $17, and a clear indication of lack of interest in the deal. The stock opened at the offering price, edged up to $14.10 and recently changed hands at $13.87 on volume of 11.9 million shares. "Maybe if the company delivered a free can of soda with each IPO order, it would have gone better," said John E. Fitzgibbon, Jr., an analyst for IPO Desktop. "The key point is that investors read the prospectus. The company has a great name, but little else."
ouch.
alex was kind enough to write me back this morning, saying "I guess investors heard you weren't working there anymore..." and also, as only he can so eloquently say, "aw snap!"
