i found this article about northwest airlines and their mechanics union strike contingency plans really interesting. i would love to see the airline industry figure out a way to keep the legacy carriers operating so that there's plenty of competition. and i was surprised to find that northwest only has 79% market share at metro airport (it seems like 90% at least) and that it's less than their share in minneapolis (80%).
