i haven't posted in awhile, which i guess is not completely unexpected.
when you have a baby, people say "oh, it gets better" -- and it does! but it gets better in a "oh my gosh, my little one is SO MUCH FUN", not in a "you'll have more time to yourself" sort of way. in my experience so far, you have much more time when you have an infant that sleeps a lot (unless you have a colic-y one, which is another story), and you have no time at all (other than naptime) once you have a toddler.
rex is such a big boy now! he has a good group of words that he'll say reliably, and which reflect his super-cool interests:
- bird
- bus
- moon
- duck
- rock
and, of course, mama and dada.

he likes to dance.
his favorite song to dance to is the Handy Manny tool song (which we only know because we inherited a Handy Manny toolkit that plays it):




and he likes to knock down towers of things:



tonight i scored a major coup from the moms club classifieds: i found a kettler trike (the premiere trike) and it's already assembled and tricked out. it's got a DUCK horn as well as a bell, and it's got a footpad for now so that he can just set his feet on it (vs pedal himself) and i can push him. i've been researching it and wanted one (and the fact that there are a bunch of crazy patents on the thing made me want it more-so!) and can't wait for Rex to use it.
