i really enjoyed this article about how kids refer to various lego pieces. i suppose we'll have to figure out our own lego nomenclature someday, when rex is a bit older. steve and i have already agreed that we don't want him focusing his lego-playing on those weird super-custom pieces that are pre-built for making specific things (you know, like pre-made wings that you just snap onto planes like below:)

i also really liked this piece about kissing. it's germy, but i guess that's a good thing. it's recommended that you kiss the same person for at least 6 months to build up protection against that particular germ. here's a HOT quote that definitely makes me want to smooch steve tonight:

"Female inoculation with a specific male's cytomegalovirus is most efficiently achieved through mouth-to-mouth contact and saliva exchange, particularly where the flow of saliva is from the male to the typically shorter female."

Hey, nothing wrong with those wings - I grew up on them! But kits these days have much bigger hunks of pre-made legoage. Do I sound like a grumpy old man?
